Maybe you don’t know this about me, but I’m deeply introverted. That doesn’t mean I’m shy or hate people. It just means that interacting with people drains my battery, so to speak.
Because of that, vending at arts and crafts shows really exhausts me.
On Saturday, I was delighted to be part of Zebulon Farm Fresh Market’s 2018 Opening Day. This is the third year Fabled Treasures has been part of the market, and it feels familiar and warm and like home. But it still zaps my energy.
I’ve learned things get very bad if I keep pushing after I’ve reached the point of exhaustion, and I generally need two days to recover from the aftereffects of vending at a show.
So today I’m enjoying time with my husband, who is off from work. Recharging by taking it easy sometimes feels wrong, like I’m lazy or wasting time. It’s not. Our bodies, minds, and souls need time to relax and recharge. Resting is just as important as doing.
Did you get that?
Resting is just as important as doing.
That’s what is inspiring me this Monday: learning and putting into practice the importance of rest.
What’s inspiring you today? How do you feel about rest?
I’d love to hear what you think. Leave a comment below, and please feel free to grab the graphic for personal use.

I needed that today! I was exhausted Sunday, really more overwhelmed. I actually took today off just to catch up so I wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed. Thank you for putting things in to perspective for me! You are such a blessing.
Rebecca, I’m so glad you took time off today and that my sharing helped you. I hope that you find yourself better able to “do” tomorrow after resting today.
I needed this message today. I get the exact same way! I need that day of rest!
Carole, I hope you rested well today. I know you needed it. <3
